restore backup

Hi, there, would be grateful for advice.
I am unable to restore back up despite going File>>Restore back up.

there used to be list of the dates to which I can back up , however,
on this occasion back up list if empty

( there were no online back up done).
Would someone share their wisdom please?

First check Preferences/General/Folders - is the the backup files folder set correctly?
After selecting File/Restore backup, select the file name from the dropdown list first to show available backups.
