Hello
I bought FastKeys. - professional edition , for a windows laptop. I have built a small library of text expanders to use when I am working from home.
I have a new job in an office.
I would like to use my FastKeys text expander in the office.

I thought I could :1/ download portable version on existing windows laptop
2/ import data files from professional edition to portable version on windows laptop
3/ download portable version with data onto USB flash drive or zip and email so I can use it in different place

I am tech naive. I have completed step 1is step 2 possible? how do I complete step 2? do I folllow instructions to IMPORT data ?
Thanks!

If you wish to move the data from one computer to another you can simply copy the Settings.fdb file from Documents/FastKeys folder to another computer. If using custom Phrase files or Wordlists that you should do the same for those.

You could also use a Portable version. In this case I suggest you install it on USB disk first and then copy the settings file as explained above.

Please consider having automatic sync across devices for future versions
Seems like a rather clunky approach in this day and age having to copy files etc
I like FastKeys generally but this particular aspect is problematic

You can use cloud storage for syncing:

One of the reasons I'm allowed to use it in my work is that the system does not include an internet/cloud component. If something like that is added, please keep it optional or as an add-on.
