Bullet point character doesn't work in FastKeys

If I try to create a Text expander with a bullet point (☻) (Alt+0149), either by itself, or in a dropdown with other symbols (e.g.
/€
/•
/♫
)
or even together with other text, e.g.
• Test
Test • Test
the bullet point is simply deleted by FastKeys.

Any suggestion?

Note:
1) seems to be happening with some other special characters as well (like certain arrow characters)
2) workaround for the bullet (and for the arrows) is to use "heavier" versions of the characters, e.g. ● 🡄 🡆
