Hi again,

I have been using fastkeys for months now and still love it! :) However, I've noticed that one day the capitalization of letters in autocompletion no longer works. I used to be able to type, for example, "Ty" and it will change into "Thank you." Now it just types out thank you without capitalizing T. Even if I type TY, it'll type out THANK YOU. Now not anymore. It's all done in lower caps.

I tried to look through the settings to see if I have accidentally changed anything, but nothing. What's more weird, I haven't played with settings anyway. I do keep it updated whenever there's an update.

Any idea?

Thank you in advance for your time!

Thanks for the note. You are right, this function was broken in 3.08. We will make sure to add it back in the next version release. ;)

I have noticed the same thing. Oddly, I never saw it until tonight, and I use Text Expander a lot.

I have version 3.09 on the computer I'm typing this on now.

I also don't know when I installed version 3.09. I don't have a setup file on my computer except for the original one (a year ago yesterday!), but it was probably not long after it was released (if it was in the last few days, I would have remembered), and I think I would have noticed the capitalization problem before now. So I don't know if a Windows 10 update broke something else in FastKeys.

Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, 10586.318. I haven't installed anything else or replaced any hardware in the last 2 weeks.

This feature should work in 3.09, what's your capitalization problem?

Hi Marko,

My problem is the same as what the original poster wrote back in March. It used to be that if I typed, say. #mgt I'd get "management", and if I typed #Mgt I'd get "Management". That suddenly doesn't work. #mgt, #Mgt, and #MGT all give me "management".

(To be accurate, I use numbers for the first character in every abbreviation, so where I wrote "#mgt", it is actually "9 mgt" without the space. But I haven't ever changed any of the abbreviations.)

Hope that helps.

FastKeys now only recognizes case of the first character in the string. We'll try to update this to recognize the case of the first alphabet character.

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks, Marko. That would be a very useful fix. FastKeys really is excellent!
