The date & time definitions are very well.
But I miss (I was autohotkey-user until now) the 2digit year abbreviation (e.g. for 2016: 16).
Would it be possible to add this feature?

We will see if we could add this in one of the next releases. Until then you can use command syntax:

Just wanted to up-vote Thomas suggestion, I tried the command syntax but it inserts the date, after the trigger command ie. if my trigger is ".dt", it inserts ".dt 161229", instead of just "161229". Not sure if this is a Notepad++ incompatibility, but it would be much easier if added to the date & time definitions.
