Change Special Keys?

Greetings,
I have read the documentation and maybe I am missing it. Is there anyway to change the special key to CTRL? That way when I type a text snippet/shortcut and press CTRL it then sends the text as opposed to Tab/Enter that are the current options?

FastKeys can trigger text expansion by typing one of the ending characters as defined in Preferences/Text Expander/Ending characters, typically Space, Enter, comma etc. It is not possible to use special keys like Ctrl as ending characters.
