I have been having a problem where the expanded text seems to always be written in ALL CAPS.
To be more specific, if you look at this image:

This is what is the expected output is supposed to be

This is what is ACTUALLY outputted:

As you can see, all keys with a sub-function uses the sub-function instead of the original key. It
is almost as if the SHIFT key is constantly being pressed while the text is being expanded. I've this
is not a natural thing for my computer to do. It only happens when I use the text expander.

Also, when the process is over the SHIFT key remains activated till I press the shift key myself.
Basically, any key I press will be in caps or will activate the sub-function for the key until I 'reset'
the SHIFT key by pressing it once.

You must have another item/shortcut using a Shift key - please check. Also, try resetting the preferences to default.

Sorry for the late reply,

I followed all the instructions you gave me, however no changes were made. I'm still receive the problems.

All preferences are set to default and all other items/shortcuts are disabled except for the sample string.

How do you trigger the expansion? By typing "string_example"?
Do you have a Shift selection key enabled in Preferences/Appearance?

If this doesn't help, please contact our mail support.
